Get the perfect balance of sweet and heat in these slow cooker hot honey BBQ chicken sliders that deliver a flavor explosion with minimal effort, thanks to the convenience of Pacific Foods® Organic Condensed Tomato Soup! This recipe combines tender, slow-cooked shredded chicken with a flavorful sauce that's smoky, sweet from honey and packing a delightful kick from cayenne pepper sauce. The condensed tomato soup is a fantastic base for the BBQ-inspired sauce, providing a subtle tang and helping to create a saucy coating for the chicken. These easy chicken sliders are perfect for parties or a laid-back family meal and are delicious topped with dill pickle slices and your favorite slaw.

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds boneless, skinless chicken breast
  • 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 2 teaspoons onion powder
  • 1 can (10.75 ounces) Pacific Foods® Organic Condensed Tomato Soup
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon-style mustard
  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • 2 tablespoons cayenne pepper sauce
  • 1 1/4 packages Pepperidge Farm® White Slider Buns (16 slider buns)

Instructions

  • Step 1

Place the chicken into a 6-quart slow cooker.  Rub the chicken with the paprika, garlic powder and onion powder and season with salt and pepper.  Add the soup and mustard to the cooker.

  • Step 2

Cover and cook on HIGH for 2 hours (or LOW for 4 hours) or until the chicken is fork-tender.  Remove the chicken to a cutting board.  Using 2 forks, shred the chicken.  Return the chicken to the cooker.  Add the honey and cayenne pepper sauce and mix well.  Serve the chicken mixture on the buns.

  • Tips

    • If serving in sandwiches or sliders, top the chicken mixture with dill pickle slices and your favorite slaw (we like a slaw with a vinegar-based dressing for this recipe).  The chicken mixture is also great as a taco filling or a topping for flatbread.
