Restoring the wetlands. Welcoming back old friends.
When our founder and his family first purchased farmland in the Willamette Valley, they didn’t just envision what the land might become, they recalled what it once was. On some of the properties were wetlands that had been buried or overrun with invasive species.
Garrison Keillor once said, “July is the only time of year when country people lock our cars in the church parking lot, so people won't put squash on the front seat.” And, it’s so true! It’s that time of the year when our gardens gift us with more zucchini goodness than we sauté, slice or sandwich. So, it’s only fitting that today is National Zucchini Day.
