Heat olive oil over medium heat in a Dutch oven. Add onion and sweet potato and saute for 5 minutes.
Add lentils and broth. Bring mixture to a gentle boil, reduce heat to a low simmer, cover and cook for 20 to 25 minutes. Serve dal with fresh cilantro. Enjoy!
