Setting the Table Pacific Foods

Last weekend, we participated in Feast Portland, a celebration of Oregon’s Bounty. Thousands of passionate foodies came out for the festival, organized to create awareness of widespread childhood hunger in Oregon, and to support hunger relief throughout the country.

The culinary extravaganza was fun for all who nibbled, noshed, snacked and sipped their way through our amazing state’s cornucopia of flavors. Those of us who worked it certainly had a blast. Pacific heard rave reviews about the Elvis-inspired smoothies we served, as well as our Roasted Red Pepper Gazpacho (Thanks!) And for those who asked us about packaging our Chocolate Hazelnut Pudding, we’re looking into it. We agree, it was tasty!  Hopefully, some of you were able to take a shortcut around town on one of our free sponsored Pedicab rides. And the treats from Kyra’s Bakeshop were met with enthusiastic fingers licked.

Even more significant than the actual food event though, is what’s at the heart of Feast Portland. The net proceeds of the weekend’s activities go to two worthy charities: Partners for a Hunger-Free Oregon and No Kid Hungry. Both organizations are working to end hunger in Oregon and throughout the rest of the country. We’ve always believed that no one should go hungry, and it’s our privilege to partner with so many like-minded foodies, local chefs and international artisans.

With most of the Feast events selling out, the weekend’s proceeds will provide people all over the US with better access to quality nutritious food. What can you do? Join us.

Now that the plates from Feast have cleared, we can all do our part to make sure that people everywhere will sit down to healthy food this fall. Please, help us set their tables.
