Ingredients

4 LBS PURPLE ONIONS, THINLY SLICED

1 CUBE REAL BUTTER

1 BOX PACIFIC FOODS CHICKEN BROTH (4 CUPS)

2 CUPS SAUVIGNON BLANC WHITE WINE

FRESH PARSLEY

TYHME FLAKES (OR FRESH)

1 BAY LEAF

Preparation

SAUTE ONIONS IN MELTED BUTTER AT MEDIUM HEAT UNTIL CARMALIZED, ABOUT 20 MINUTES. COVER ONIONS WHILE CARMALIZING. STIR OCCASSIONALLY.

POUR 1 BOX (4 CUPS) PACIFIC FOODS CHICKEN BROTH INTO LARGE POT, ADD 2 CUPS WHITE WINE

POUR ONIONS INTO PACIFIC FOODS CHICKEN BROTH,ADD  FRESH PARSLEY, FLAKED THYME AND BAY LEAF.

BRING TO GENTLY BOIL AND SIMMER FOR 30-45 MINUTES, ADDING SALT& PEPPER TO TASTE.

SERVE WITH CRUSTY FRENCH BREAD

ADD GRATED GRUYERE CHEESE TO TOP OF SOUP BEFORE SERVING (OPTIONAL) IF ADDING CHEESE, PLACE UNDER BROIL TO BROWN
